Under the direction of the Park Manager at Taconic State Park, the incumbent will perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair activities in a variety of trades such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and mechanical repairs for Rudd Pond, Copake Falls and the Harlem Valley Rail (facilities are in Dutchess and Columbia Counties). The incumbent will:
o Act independently with a minimum of direct supervision. o Operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of power-driven mechanical equipment including heavy equipment, trucks, tractors, aquatic weed harvester, mowers and power saws. o Load and unload cargo from vehicles and storage. o Perform building and ground maintenance and cleaning activities. o Assist in general water distribution system operations and potable water testing. o Assign, supervise, review, train and evaluate work of seasonal employees. o Assist in emergency situations by applying emergency procedures and practices including potential lost or injured hiker rescues and water rescues, assisting and directing staff and working with patrons to enforce park rules, and engage in customer service. o Assist with traffic control and parking of vehicles. o Assist in building and repairing roads, paths, picnic tables, benches, trails and park equipment. o Complete snow removal, including shoveling snow and operating vehicles to plow snow. o Assist in winterizing bathrooms and other plumbing tasks. o Complete pruning and tree trimming activities involving the operation of chain saw, stump grinder, wood splitter, bucket truck, and chipper.

Salary Range:
From $37507 to $46103 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Two years of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, or recreational facility; OR two years' experience as a trades assistant under the supervision of a skilled tradesperson, or completion of an appropriate two-year technical/trades school course.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
